Johnny Depp is a fine actor and all that type of stuff. But he's apparently also a lazy shitbird with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement. If you're going to do a public reading with a nice little set-up, including a lot of technical work and video production, DON'T CHEW FUCKING GUM AND SMOKE A CIGARETTE DURING THE FUCKING READING. Okay, I grant that he's working on some hipster/cultural-renegade schtick. But fuck it. Fuck it. Have some sense. Have some respect for your audience and for your crew.
Actually, it emulates how HST actually spoke better that way than to clearly annunciate. Listen to some Hunter some time and you’ll see what I mean.
